The sealed Kingdom of Dreams complex in Gurugram has come under scrutiny after several people were reportedly seen removing steel bars, girders, pipelines and other metal fixtures from the property. The entertainment complex in Sector 29 was sealed by the Haryana Shahari Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP) in July 2022 following a long-running dispute over unpaid rent. During a recent visit, around 15 to 20 people were reportedly found using hammers, saws and other tools to dismantle steel and iron material from different parts of the building. Several sections of the once-popular cultural destination have also deteriorated, with damaged gates, windows and structural elements raising concerns over unauthorised access and site security. The issue is especially significant because a structural audit conducted earlier found extensive damage at the property and declared it unsafe for use. HSVP officials have described the matter as serious and said steps are being taken to register an FIR and prevent unauthorised entry into the sealed premises. The incident also highlights concerns around the security, recovery and disposal of valuable steel and scrap material from abandoned or restricted commercial properties.
