Tata Group stocks came under pressure as the ongoing dispute between Tata Trusts and Tata Sons over the reappointment of N Chandrasekaran as Tata Sons chairman raised concerns about a possible legal battle. Tata Chemicals shares declined more than 3% during the session, touching an intraday low of ₹670, while Tata Investment Corporation slipped nearly 2%. Tata Steel, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles and TCS also traded lower before some stocks recovered part of their losses. The dispute intensified after Tata Trusts Chairman Noel Tata questioned the validity of Chandrasekaran’s fresh five-year extension. Tata Trusts, which controls about 66% of Tata Sons, has challenged the process followed for the appointment and is reportedly considering legal options. Investor attention is also centred on the possible listing of Tata Sons. The Shapoorji Pallonji Group, which holds an 18.37% stake in Tata Sons, has supported listing as a potential route to unlock shareholder value. The developments have increased volatility across Tata Group stocks, with investors closely tracking further governance, legal and Tata Sons IPO developments.
