Italian steelmaker Feralpi Group has completed a three-year investment programme worth more than €500 million while reporting stronger production, revenue and profitability for 2025.The company produced 2.7 million metric tonnes of crude steel, marking a 4.7% annual increase. Consolidated revenue climbed 3% to €1.7 billion, while EBITDA reached €87.2 million. Feralpi also returned to profit, recording a marginal net income of €401,000 after posting a loss in the previous year.

Major investments focused on production efficiency, digitalisation, workplace safety and low-carbon steelmaking. Key projects included a new rolling mill in Riesa, Germany, and an electric billet-heating system at the company’s Lonato facility in Italy. More than 80% of its 2025 investments supported environmental, social and governance initiatives.

Despite its improved performance, Feralpi warned that Europe’s steel sector remains under pressure from weak demand, high energy costs, rising imports and geopolitical uncertainty. With upgraded facilities and growing demand for greener steel products, the company is now focused on converting its expanded industrial capacity into sustainable long-term profitability.
