NEMO Selects Tenova for Louisiana DRI Plant Nippon Steel Returns to Profit in Q1 JFE Steel Produces Iron Using Green Hydrogen
Henan Jiyuan Iron and Steel has awarded Danieli a contract to design and supply a new bow-type continuous casting machine at its Jiyuan steel plant in Henan province, China.The four-strand caster will produce round blooms ranging from 600 mm to 1,300 mm in diameter, mainly using alloy steel grades. The finished steel products will support demanding applications across the energy and marine sectors.
Danieli’s supply package includes the core continuous casting equipment, along with advanced electrical and automation systems. Featuring an 18.5-metre radius, the machine is designed to deliver high productivity, improved reliability and consistent steel quality.
The project builds on an existing two-strand Danieli caster commissioned at the same facility in 2023. The new installation will use an upgraded copy-plant design with two additional strands, helping Henan Jiyuan expand its jumbo rounds production capacity.The new continuous caster is scheduled to begin operations in 2027.
