India Steel Market to Hit 273.88 MT by 2031 Danieli Installs High-Efficiency Billet Grinder in China
US President Donald Trump has signed a proclamation revising Section 232 tariffs on steel, aluminum and copper imports, bringing fresh changes for global metal trade. The order lowers duties on selected steel and aluminum derivative products, including some agricultural machinery and residential HVAC equipment, from 25% to 15%. Mobile industrial equipment such as bulldozers and forklifts may also qualify for a 15% tariff when imported from eligible trade-deal countries. The move introduces 25% duties on two additional derivative categories: steel racks and aluminum lithographic plates. It also allows products with at least 85% US-origin steel, aluminum or copper content to qualify for a lower 10% tariff. The revised tariff structure will apply from June 8, 2026, and remain in effect until December 31, 2027, potentially influencing import pricing, sourcing strategies and demand for US-origin metal content.
